T-ANE. New user - can't toggle message window

I'm new so still learning AI trains, signals, switches etc. I've seen tutorials.
Sometimes I can't understand why a train won't do what it should do.
I notice there should be a driver message window which I think may tell me what the conflict is?
But I can't get message window to show. Seen 'additional toolbar' but clicking message window line doesn't seem to do anything?
Help please.

This is a known problem, and will likely be fixed in the next update.
