Sytem Rquirements for Games

Sytem Requirements for Games

jimisham thanks for this excellent piece of information and to your link. I suspected a while ago that my video card needed replacing, but the results of my test have definately confirmed it. Anyway, I thank you for your post, it is an excellent way of testing your computer/laptop specifications for playing games efficiently.

Cheers. ex-railwayman.

Yeh thanks for the link, been looking for some sort of direction as to whether my sytem is able to cope. Still looking for an answer to whether the game take advantage of dual CPUs and any advantage in having dual graphic cards now that nvidia SLI system can be implemented.

Trainz like most games is single threaded. So it runs on one cpu.

Dual SLI to my understanding needs special drivers for a game to make use of it, I don't recall Trainz having these. A web search will no doubt pull up a list of games that have them.

sorry for being out of date

I have trainz 2002 sim. i cannot get it to install. nothing happens after the menu. it cant be the software because i have a replacement copy and it does exactly the same. purchased from mapplins they say they cant refund software. i am the administrator and i have tried safe mode and turning off norton. I am getting agitated with this situation so if anyone can help great. my computer should be powerful enough, core2duo pentium-250gb drive(80%free),7600gt graphics.1mb 800 ram. couldnt find site for 2002. thanks.

Cheers for the site! Apparently my PC passes the MSFS-X recommended specs with flying colours! Always assumed I'd need a supercomputer for it.

Before anyone can really help you're going to need to check which version of Trainz you have - there isn't a Trainz 2002... ;) We'll also need to know what error messages you're getting etc rather than just telling us it doesn't work, but I'd start a new thread for that to stop this one going off-topic :)

My CPU and Graphics card were minimum passes at 3200+ and 6600LE respectively, that's what I thought anyway. In which case I might not completely rebuild my PC as planned.

Thanks for that,

Andy

Thanks for that, Jimisham. Yep! My system passed with flying colours.....so why do I still feel it needs updating?
I intend to get a further 1gb of memory, (at present I'm running 1 1/2 gb. One one gig strip and one 1/2gb strip.
I also intend to upgrade my graphics card soon. (For the second time since discovering Trainz.):)
