When you originally saved your new route, did you use "Save as" and give your route a name? Once you have done this, your route should be in your Surveyor menu next time you open and then you can use the simple "save" each time you modify.
Hope this helps.

Check what name it has saved under, it may be saved as "Deafalt" something or "01".
Do a thorough search of your route list for odd named routes and I'm sure you will find it as it was saved and does not just dissapear.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, make sure Trainz is running as administrator.
This.

It is easy to be misled; you get a warning when you first try to save, but if you try to save again, there is no warning, and you are fooled into thinking it has saved properly.

It can be misleading when Trainz is not running as administrator, but files saved in this way may be recoverable.

In the Start Menu, type
%APPDATA\Local\VirtualStore\ , then press Enter.

The folder that appears contains any files saved when Trainz was not running as administrator - if it is a piece of content that is affected, simply import it into Content Manager from that folder (it may be easier to copy the content folder onto the Desktop first)

thanks a lot fot all the help! unfortunately none of it did any good. i also tried to reinstall the game, but all in vain.

looks like the trashcan can rejoice about receiving another bad engineered game soon.

thanks.

If you are using Windows Vista or 7, have you made sure that Trainz is set to run as administrator? (just having an admin account is not enough).

Also, the folder path I gave in the previous post is where any maps etc can be recovered from if they were saved before Trainz is set to run as administrator.

Resuming a saved game

Hi Tommy - To resume a saved game you should start Driver and look at the bottom of the screen for Saved games.

The games are not saved in Surveyor.

Hope this helps - Trevor

G'day Tommy,

Look for "Autosave", unless you disabled the autosave function, Reainz saves the game at regular intervals. So if you find the" autosave" in the routes list, go to "Edit route" and then use "save as" and save your route with the name you want. It should be still there when you load up the game next time.
And dont blame Trainz, blame microsoft, they seem to find new ways to anoy everyone with each new version of windoze.:hehe:

Before you throw it away, what build number have you got, found lower right of start screen.
Should be 3337 or 3092. If not you need to patch up.
