Surveyor Questions

I have a couple questions while I ponder the next portion of my Gorre Canyon Railway.
1. Are there any tunnels that are just the portal? The ones in the game have the huge extension on the side of it, and it just doesn't work for what I want.
2. My mainline is mostly single track with passing sidings. I am building this route with dispatching in mind. If there is a train approaching a few blocks away will an AI train leave the siding? Or, will it know there is a train on approach and wait? Do I just put signals on the siding and leave it like that?
3. I understand that you can set an iPortal to release trains at a set schedule. What happens if it tries to release one when a train is on the line heading to the tunnel?
4. Transfer Warehouses - I am going to have a second rail line in the same town as my railroad and I want to interchange goods. The problem is it is going to be a narrow gauge railroad. Since narrow gauge trains can't run on standard track I was thinking of having a warehouse that the narrow gauge pulls up to one side and unloads and loads, and the standard gauge is on the other side. Is there anyway I can get something like this to work?
5. Since my railroad is a major coal hauler, is it possible to adjust the output of a coal mine so it produces a bunch of coal really fast, or always have an unlimited amount?
Thanks again

Big mountains need big engines!

1) Yes in TRS200k all tunnels on Hawes Junction use Tunnel Mouths of this type. Also if you search for Tunnel on the DLS you"ll find AJS Tunnel Portal.2)Depends on how you signal it.Always provide a signal at the exit to the Siding and give the Mainline train Priority 1 and the siding train Priority 3.Never used Iportals sorry!4)There cerainly are Transfer Warehouses - if you search the DLS using the term Transfer there is at least one UK pattern one.I suppose you would set the track on one side to Consume (say) 50 sacks of Hay and on the other side to Load 50 sacks? 5) Don"t know how to regulate the speed of coal production but if you search coal on the DLS there are several different types of coal loaders and unloaders - I have a lot of Coalmines on my rout so they come in handy.
