Superfast tank engines

I have just added a couple of SR tank engines to my route. When I go into driver both of them shoot off at insane speed, without me touching the controls or setting routes for them. One was going at 1995 kph!

The locos are:
Terrier SR IOW Long Bunker
SR 0-4-4T MT Class

Other locos on the route are working fine. Anyone know what the problem might be?

When you first imported them into Trainz, did they report any errors or warnings? Check that in Content Manager.

Otherwise, it could be an oversight of the engine developers who just made an update and didn't bother to check it (Tut tut)

"superfast" locos

I had the same problem several months ago with some steam locos I bought. Strange as it may seem, I deleted ("uninstalled") the locos, closed Trainz and waited for TADDaemon.exe to finish up. Then I went back into Content Manager and re-installed the locos from the CDPs. After that they worked just fine. That left me and the locos' creator scratching our heads, but it worked.

I'm running TS2010, in case you're wondering.

Good luck.

I imported them some months ago, and only just got around to using them, so I am not sure. One is flagged as edited, so I must have done something, the other is flagged as having errors. I have now deleted some tags that started with a semi-colon, and it says it is error-free, but still behaving the same.

Found this also happens for LNER J39.

The two SR engines use the same engine spec, and it looks like the J39 is a copy of that. Changing to another enhine spec (I used Stepney) has cured the problem.

I have a similar problem with TrainzItalia's 844 and Challenger. Fixed the 844 by swapping in a different config file from another Mountain-class, but haven't found a reasonable replacement config file for the Challengers.

I have one that works great for the Challenger, drop me a PM.
