Strange Track

Get over it
No matter what I try I cannot delete this piece of track. I can place track with ballast over it and even though the track does not snap into place the loco does not derail when it crosses the connecting points. When the loco is on that. section the view acts like it's in a tunnel. Any ideas or suggestions? I've deleted the surrounding tracks and started from scratch but no luck. It's been a frustrating night, first this and now I just had a filling come out so I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. At least the tooth doesn't hurt.

Not a good picture. There's a track with ballast attached to this piece at the other end. Having a bad night.

Have you tried raising the spline height at each end of that track section to make the whole thing visible, then trying to delete it? Just a thought. Hope it helps.

Hi pop pop. I had a similar problem once. It turned out to be a piece of rolling stock which had partly derailed and then turned invisible.

The track wont delete with locos or wagons on it.

Try clicking along the track with the loco delete selected. After which try deleting the track once more.

Good Luck!

I've had that happen to me in TS2010 with track and also with road. I do seem to recall having found a derailed or invisible train car on the track. As for the road, I don't recall what I did to remove it. Perhaps just replacing with another type, then was able to delete.

If you don't find an invisible train on the track, try doing an asset replacement of the track and try deleting. If that works, you can always change the track back to what it was.

Also, sometimes using wire-frame view helps to reveal problems.

Good luck with this, and hope your tooth is fixed. I know how aggravated I get when I have one frustration on top of another.

Thanks for all the replys. I had already tried all of the suggestions and nothing worked. I had previously saved the route as a cdp file so I imported that file and the track was gone. Of course some of my most recent work was gone also but I'm back working on it. Thanks again.

Next time it happens, it may be because the track has mysteriously become clasified as a building. Use the building delete thingy. It worked for me.

Try attaching a piece of track that you know you can delete (something basic) to it, and then deleting it. That has worked for me. And yes, definitely use wireframe mode so you can see what's going on.

I had the same problem. The rolling stock was a locomotive that would show up it drive mode as derailed an on the ground. The derailed locomotive would not show up in surveyor. I started out by deleting all of track until I came upon the track on which the invisible derailed loco was, it would not delete. I lost patience, and deleted the board, that fixed it!

I have had Trainz derail in surveyor and move to another part of the board or route. I found them and deleted them there. Also, I have tried to couple another train to where it was, then delete consist. Or move it to delete it.

Now that I think about it, the train still existed on that track but floated off of the base boards a distance. The train in question- PRR TGV
