Stations capturing all trains (Main thread)

Now look here...

A class 442 approaches Clanderboye (a WIP) with a load of grain. Note the speed.

The next shot is taken seconds later. Note the speed again...

Obviously the industry active station is trying to capture the train and make it stop (though God knows where the passengers will fit!). Incidentally it's Station West Ewell Kuid:1942:28038

Wondering if it's a problem with the Class 442 I tried again with a brace of Alco and GM locos...

Here we go. Note the speed.

And again...

Is there any way to get round this? I kinda like the station and spent hours fitting it in and matching the associated structures and yard layout. I'll change it if I have to but I won't be smiling! And anyway what guarantees are there that a different station won't simply do the same thing? The line has to service passengers and freight and even then not all passenger trains will stop here.

Is there a way out?

Curious about the mis-match between the speed limit and the actual speed in each of the 'before' pictures. Is the AI in control, or does Midland have a hand in.....

Andy :)

Yes I'm afraid I was always a two speed driver:

stop and flat out!:hehe:

At least in TRS I don't get any blisters from the boss...

I would rather use non-interactive stations than install relief lines. I'm actually following a prototype here.

is the station an industry active object... or is it a couple of multi industrys?

either way... check the properties tab, and make sure its only configured to passengers

This seems to be a problem with cab-control only, and it is there in TRS2004 as well as TRS2006. I call it station-suck as the trains are sucked into the station and can't go out.

I could never figure out how to get around it, but checking the station properties sounds like a good idea.

LOL!

Yes it certainly sucks John. :hehe:

WEN, we're talking Australasian here mate; not Pommie... :hehe:

Colin, this particular station is only configured for passengers. It doesn't have general goods capability.

This problem only affects industry active stations produced by "Tafweb" (kuid:1942:xxxx). It only happens when driving trains manually, either cab or DCC mode. It does not happen when your trains have been given orders and drive in AI mode. This is my experience.

Forgot to mention my experience of this problem is with TRS 2006 SP1. Don't know about other versions of Trainz.

On more serious matters, I've noticed it too and I believe every time a train enters the station, a script takes over and puts it in the right place if necessarily (unless its either Bloodnoks or Andi's). It might be the way the script it setup. For Bloodnoks or Andis, they seen to "capture" trains at a lower speed range than of Tafweb, so it might be investigating the script and see what speed its set to capture.

I am not a scripter, but I think this is whats happening.
