Have you downloaded and installed something new recently? The error can be caused by a faulty asset.

So you haven't downloaded anything? This can also be caused by something that somehow has become corrupted. Do you have TrainzObjectz? This utility will check your assets for errors or missing content and give you a chance to fix them.
