Spammers posting on the Blogs - N3V Please take action!

Hi N3V,,

It is possible for only registered users to post on the Blogs, because in the passed weeks there have been this guy name Deodeni that seems to enjoy posting on my Blog --

I strongly encourage N3V to look into how to protect the Trainz Blog from outside non-register users from posting on the blogs -- Those who have subscribed to my blog are getting this garbage too!

Please take action against protecting the Blog posts!!!

I have a similar thread in this forum regarding this issue.

As it is your blog, you do have the ability to remove the offending comments - use the Inline Moderation option in the comments section (there may even be a delete option).

Unfortunately, at this time, there's no real way to prevent the spam from being posted on there.

Thankyou for the information - I normally do report spam posts/blog comments as soon as I see them.

Is it possible to look into some form of 'new user moderation' to help reduce the chance of this happening? I believe the VBulletin software supports this feature, and would probably only need to be the first post or two.

Yes, I did reported it, and then about an hour ago I deleted it! (yesterday)

I do hope that N3V take measures to prevent from that sort of garbage on the blogs, etc ... If the blogs are protected like the DLS, where as username and password would be needed to psot it will clean this problem up!

I know it's the holidays, and N3V stuff is on limited reduction, but the Spammer once again posted on my blog -- I will report it to you guys and leave were it is so you guys can take a peak!

Like I siad again, the Blogs need to be protected with username and password -- not sure why it can be implemented as soon as possible!

*This Dude posted 8 posts flooding the blogs!!!

The dude that is spreading spam is called deodeni, and it says that he is a register user!

Blog settings - Untick Allow post comments or tick moderate comments, should stop the problem, if it's going to be moderated before it gets displayed the spammer probably won't bother.

I did as instructed, and he still managed to post -- It's like everyday, and I have reported it every single time as Zec instructed -- The sad part of all this is that perhaps the Spammer, who username is Deodeni, believes that my subscribers to my blog are getting his spams, but they are not, so it is not an issue on that part -- However, the other sad part is that it filled the blog entries at the blog pages (where everyone post blogs appears), since he posts 5-7 comments at once, etc ... Most likely this guy has an illegal copy of trainz I bet!

Anyhow, I looked at the settings and tried a few more things -- we'll see what happens next, etc!

All in all, thanks for the instructions!!!

If you do see anymore from other users, can you please leave at least one comment from them on your post, so that I can access their account (once deleted, it is more difficult to take action on their account, particularly if the username isn't included in the report).

The Spam entries are posted on my blog -- I left the posted comments like you have instructed so you can delete the account --- if you can you should banned the ip address as well, if you guys have the tools for that too!

Hope you are feeling well today!

The spam posts were there for 3 days, and I finally deleted the posts because I needed to post myself at that time! However, if he shows up again I might have to just moderate the blog via the settings, a step I did not wanted to take since I like folks to be free to post instantly, instead of putting this issue on your hands -- I do not want to bothered you all the time with this issue!
