All of these have the same fault, and it has to do with the bogey:
- <kuid:45651:50018> (Greenliner Bogey) : VE36: The texture 'greenliner_bogey_shadow/black.tga' failed to load.
- <kuid:45651:50017> (Silverliner bogey) : VE36: The texture 'silverliner_bogey_shadow/black.tga' failed to load.
- <kuid:45651:50025> (E7NYC Bogey) : VE36: The texture 'e7nyc_bogey_shadow/black.tga' failed to load.
- <kuid:45651:50020> (DR Shark Bogey) : VE36: The texture 'd&h-grey.tga' failed to load.
- <kuid:45651:50020> (DR Shark Bogey) : VE36: The texture 'dr_shark_bogey_shadow/black.tga' failed to load.
- <kuid:45651:50023> (E7PRR Bogey) : VE36: The texture 'e7prr_bogey_shadow/black.tga' failed to load.
I checked 'greenliner_bogey_shadow/black.tga' and 'silverliner_bogey_shadow/black.tga', both of these are 16x16 squares of black with lines of other colors running thru the black, so the 'black.tga' is not solid black. Is that what's causing the problem?

In myTrainz 2019 after SP2 update causing my PBR addons (not all) becomes faulty. The error message is VE242 : Unable to load animation file "mesh.kin" (file not found, or is damaged). Something wrong with ".kin" file after the update. Btw you may try to delete them and install again...it works to some of my PBR addons that got faulty but others are still faulty.

The error message refers to the mesh.kin file referenced in the config as missing the .kin extension. You need to edit the config.txt files of these assets and add in the .kin extension. Remember to submit the assets after you've saved your config.txt files, otherwise, the change won't take place.

Jordon,

Open up one of the assets for editing and open the black.tga file in a paint program. If you can't open the texture, then that's the problem. This has been an issue with a bunch of assets I have and the solution for me was to delete the assets and reinstall for most of them. Others, such as some bridges from Ben Dorsey off the DLS, sadly couldn't be repaired.

In your case, if the reinstalled assets don't repair the problem, the repair is simple. Using a paint program such as paint.net, for example, create a small 64 x 64 black.tga file. Once saved, copy in and replace the faulty ones and that should fix your problem.

Close the folder and submit the assets as usual.

I think the problem is the size. They're 16 pixels by 16 pixels instead of 64 pixels by 64 pixels, or whatever measurement is used.

Thank you so much for the answer, John :)

Okay, I've rescaled the .tga files to 64x64 pixels and the problem went away. No need for this thread anymore.

I'm glad you fixed the problem. This thread is good to keep around because it helps others in the future who may have a similar problem. The thread will bury its self soon enough in the quicksand of threads that appear in the forums.
