Hi folks

I have a very broad interest in rail, I'm into older model diesels so I guess that's why I like South American rail so much.

It's great that we have creators such as Spectnaz, CAA, Ale, Pvargas who have provided us with South American content.

I've got some pics of Chilean locos, that country is host to many rail companies. I'm not sure if the entire country is metre gauge or not, I know FCAB is run on it.

Here is a site with South American locos and the liveries they are painted in.

I'd like to start off with some Codelco GR12s, I'm not entirely sure what they haul in real life, I am using some EAOS wagons in these pics. I'm driving them on the LN RR route by Fireball 573, in my mind it possibly looks South American. We have to make do with what's available I guess.

I'd like to engourage people to post pics of any South American projects in this thread, whether it be routes, locos etc. It's an area that I would like to see grow in the TRS community.:)

I'm stubborn, I'll continue with posting shots of South American locos. There must be some interest in the content depicted here.:o

Some more G12s....

I'm not really into South American locos, but those are some really nice shots and the route looks interesting.

I like them, the Steam locos paticularly. I especially like to see an American-built loco and a European-built loco side by side, or at least in the same museum, etc. And even when I see just a European-built loco, I'm sure many a European-built loco have worked alongside American locos throughout their service life. And alot of European engines there have been modified for American enviornments, so there are some engines you would have to actually look at the builders plate to see whether or not it is an American engine!

It's the LN RR route by Fireball573, if you download the route, you'll get all the assets.

Hello Col, I would be interested in downloading any S.American locos if they were made available on the DLS. Having been to Chile ( Santiago ) a few years ago, I can pick a suitable route to put them on from what I have available, unless somebody has the inside knowledge of making one from scratch, of course. The loco's don't have to be from just Chile, but anywhere on the continent. Unfortunately on my visit though, trainspotting was extremely scarce during the day, it depends if anyone has some photos or other research material that can be used accordingly.
I'm a little surprised that we do not have many Trainz fans within our community from anywhere in South America, it seems to be the only continent that isn't represented on here, which is strange....they aren't obviously as nutz about trainz as we are.:hehe:

Ex-Railwayman, if you type in CAA, Spectnaz, Ale and Pvargas in the seach field on the DLS, you'll get a nice surprise.;)

I'm continuing on with my efforts to get an interest going in the South American rail scene. I am skinning a DL531 into red and white FePasa scheme.

I'm not sure if the red looks right, I've been playing with it for a few days and not sure if it's the right shade of red. I've also tried adding some weathering, again, it's not the easiest thing in the world to do.

If you take a look at the third pic on this site, you'll see the loco I'm trying to represent.

More soon...:)

I've tried to adjust the red, I ran into a problem when saving the original PSP file and lost all the layers I was working on. So it it was kind of tricky to adjust the red, but I did it to the best of my ability. I do think this would be closer to the mark.....

Four more pics, these are taken from Dermmy's East Kentucky route.

Triple DL531s take a rake of hoppers past the hills.

Gee thanks Colin, I knew about CAA and Spectnaz, but not the other 2 guys from Chile, I will look at their stuff this coming weekend. Much obliged for the info. mate.

America Latina Logistica (ALL) is Brazil's main rail company. I have a couple of locos that I have skinned into the red and white livery.

Ok, so it's not a TRS shot. WHO CARES?

I'm gonna try to make this one:

DDM45 as used on Brazil's meter-gauge railways.

Basically just an SD45 on DD40AX trucks that have been made narrower...they also have Dash 9-44CW's on BB span bolster trucks:
