Somewhat new to Trainz

All
you need to do is right click on the item in CMP and select CLONE, you will have a copy in your name.
Cheers,
Mike

A small addition to what Mike's said - once you've cloned the asset, you will need to commit the clone into the database as this may not happen automatically.

Well, as if Trainz 2010 going down wasn't bad enough, now Trainz 12 refuses to run the driver mode without freezing and getting "Trainz 12 has stopped working" errors. I was thinking a restart could do, but I haven't tried it out yet. Is this a common error?

I reinstalled Trainz on another computer and ran the patch. The patch seemed to install successfully, but it still displayed build 42203 and still gave me errors after I moved it to my laptop and copied in my UserData folder. Did I do it wrong?

I downloaded the patch and Trainz 2010 works fine. However, upon placing my UserData folder in the installation, a good chunk of my default stock is once again corrupted and I can't run my only test route. Is there a way for me to refresh my UserData folder?

To clarify what Clam1952 said, an EDR is an Extended Database Repair, and you can start one in Content Manager, by going File --> Extended Database Repair. It will take an hour or two to complete, at least that's my experience.

Guess I didn't update this thread. A reinstall fixed my problem and now I have both TS2010 and TS12 running. However, I can't seem to register my Trainz 12 serial, getting "Serial not found" errors. I'm pretty sure I can read correctly and entered my serial letter for letter. Does anyone know why I'm getting this error?

I was using "Trainz 12" in the drop-down list instead of "Railroad Simulator- Powered by Trainz 12". Thanks a lot, everyone! I hope to post some screenshots soon.

Remember the black K-11 issue? I downloaded some steeplecabs for the Downtown Traction Company in TRS2010 and they were black as well. I unticked the compression tick in Content Manager, but these stubborn steeplecabs just stay black. The steeplecabs are not faulty in Content Manager. How can I get these steeplecabs to actually look like they're painted for a road and not look like black blobs?
