Something that's always baffled me

Hi all

Is there a reason why the rotation of objects in surveyor is anti-clockwise and off by 90 degrees from the north (0 degrees is always to the west in trainz)??? This has always confused me about trainz, if this was changed it would save lots of time doing quite complicated circle mathematics when using google earth's ruler... Mind you it keeps you're brain in working order...

Also when spinning objects and pressing ctrl sometimes you get 360 degrees and 0 degrees. .. Now which one is 0 degrees as having both 0 degrees and 360 degrees would mean you have 361 degrees in a circle..

And why does my google toolbar want to translate everything into Spanish

Quite probably whoever wrote the first version of Jet used the right handed rule for their vectors, and that's what's exposed by the program.

Right handed vs Left handed rules is largely a matter of semantics, but I suspect software engineers get taught to prefer right handed for various reasons (fairly sure I was taught right handed rule is the best way to work).

And some reading material if you've never heard of right/left handed rules:

I can't speak for your toolbar, but the answer to your first question lies in the fact that above the equator, the toilet water spins in one direction, and below it spins another. Australia is where?

Here in the Northen hemisphere we always use right handed screwdrivers, if this shed's any light to this complicated problem...

It's just that because trainz can be quite geopraphical that they would use bareings, oh well we live and learn

@llebrez - not complicated just would save time using bareings rather than taking away from 180 if under 180 or 360 if over 180 then adding 270 if the answer is under 90 - 180 if answer is between 0 or 180 or adding 90 if answer is over 180 thants the only way I've found... Plus has anyone actually bourght a left handed screwdriver and not been ripped off would make as much sence as stripy paint or an inflatable dart board or an underwater hair dryer. Trainz programmers had great forsight to ignore their fellow hemospherians and go with right handed screwdrivers rather than their lefties heehee

Yeah, sorry, about that...I couldn't afford the "Top Shelf", so I poured some generic "Ten High" whiskey into the better bottles...
On the plus side, I am refinishing a cabinet, and I find it strips the paint very well...

I suppose next you are going to tell us that there are left handed socket wrenches.

All caravan (USA -trailer) and motorhome (USA- RV) owners in the UK will know that LPG bottles have a left-hand thread. Not knowing this can be a source of frustration to newcomers.
