Well Friends the NEWS is OUT!
Will our Favourite ..WWW.. be here next christmas???
How will our lives go on without the Auran Forums ...
What will happen after the Release of TC3?
Now I know there are a lot of fine Trainz Related websites out there in the community...BUT Like the Colonial Fleet we would be fractured through out the WEB! NO CENTRAL MEETING PLACE!!!.....???????
So would it be possible ?
We have our own Trainz Site with a DLS Forums Ect The Meeting Place !!..... You would have to subscribe to cover costs$$$$$$$
but there is anough of us so what 2 bucks a month or something ridiculisly small ......But No Pay no access and Reg Version of Trainz "remember that computer sim Yeah I belive its still alive and well there's a CULT website somewhere..."
Can we do it?
Will we survive?
All the Friends we have made over the years
The Great Models and Ideas we haved shared
What will happen to the Trainz Code ? Sold? Lost? Forgotten?
Should we dare to create our own CULT website ? If we all chipped in a couple of $ per month ...Just Imagion
YOUR VIEWS PLEASE............................................................

OR DO WE ALL GO HOME AND GET NEW!!! HOBBIES........:'(

To quote from Dad's Army ... "Don't panic" (or HHGTTG if you prefer).

There's no suggestion from the team that the forum will close, nor that the DLS will close.

I know we're all concerned, however, the game/simulator on your PC won't disappear. there's a few web sites run by others (TPR, Razorback, UK + the non-english language sites).
It's really good for the owners and users to share a forum, but there are lots of other games which have disappeared from the manufacturer's lists and still have an active community.

The disappointment would be if Auran ceased development - but it won't be the end of the world.

Best wishes for Christmas to all,

Colin

Not a bad idea but considering some members complain about paying for a FCT just to get faster downloads I wonder if there would be enough takers.

If all the all the Active Members were willing to pay $2/mth say somewhere between $20-$24/year that would bring about $60000 - $72000 / year

I'm far too busy running around screaming and rending my clothes and gnashing my teeth to address this post.:o

Actually, the TrainzProRoutes Download Depot is already prepared to absorb the entire DLS if need be, and we are preparing our forums in case the worst should happen.

Now, back to the panic already in progress......:D

dreddman please, think of your bloodpressure.;)

Auran is not going to give up without a fight. They are in financial trouble at the moment but they are doing something about it. The Asian market is growing steadily and strong with lots of new customers and fresh capital that needs to be invested and Auran have already raised some funding. Trainz is still a winner with a rock-solid community.

The DLS has to be up as long as Auran exists, it's a deal with the publishers. Besides, there are many strong 3:rd party Trainz-sites around. I remember during the forum-crash that the people at TPR considered running DLS if it were to go belly-up.

I am certain Trainz and the community will thrive even as abandonware, if it comes to that. Trainz-Code? To valuable to be lost or forgotten, probably sold. Any bids?

P.S. I hope Ed will forgive me for any spelling mistakes - I'm a Swede...D.S.

So What Are We Going To Do NOW!

If you are asking me, just...

Relax, calm down and expect next week's arrangements from the AJM Threesome left.

And download a cup of cappuccino honouring another friend gone, Henkie. :p

:hehe:

This wonderful idea would get my vote, if it comes to that.

Hi all,

Just like to keep you informed The forums and Download station will not be going anywhere, Auran will always keep these going and they will have 1 person to run them. Don't worry about these going they are here to stay.

All the best

Aidan

Don't worry

I didn't, Aidan. Thank you for you closeness again, keep doing so. We need it and you need it too.

Alberte

Note: let's not forget that CMP is close to nothing without the DS. And CMP is essential to TRS2006 and TC. 'Fourers' are luckier with that. :hehe:

Hi DM

I am going to set back and wait ... However, if the whole company goes belly-up, I'll be stopping at TPR, Foro IberzTrainz.eu, Wiley's and the Razorback forums to post, plus I'll continue working on my route and in gmax.

I'll then host my route if it's ever finish with all the contents in zip for those who wish to run it.

It's not that bad DB if you look at the whole picture. You and I, and those who have worked on the space shuttle project can come together and continue with it!!

I think for me that was a major concern however with that snippet of information it basically means very little impact for most of us. Thank you for the information, now we can just concentrate on filling them up.

That tidbit of infomation is what was needed Aidan. It helps to disspell, as Ed so admirably described, as "the panic already in progress...." It's also reasuring that if worse comes to worse TPR is their to take on the DLS.

I just bought the trainz routes vol. 3&4. That 'll Help.

So I am not going anywhere. :)

Regards

P.S: Ed. Thank God for you. LOL
