That sounds like a rather uncomfortable commute!
Here in the US, our museums are both government and local as you are probably aware I'm sure by now. When an exhibits are setup, there are corporate sponsors who will donate equipment or parts of the exhibit which I think people are saying here. In this case the museum will usually have plaque that states something like the exhibit name followed by a thank you to such and such corporation for their equipment and gift. This would be a perfect way for N3V to show gratitude towards the overall community and a stewardship towards education.
The famous Boston Museum of Science for example has exhibits that were donated by various corporations or individuals including IMAX for the IMAX film theatre.
