Signals puzzle

I am building a British route and although much still to do thought I would put signals in at the main stations with multi platforms. Obviously I need signals at the end of each platfor exit onto the main line but that is fine when I am putting a signal at the start on the left but thesubsequent one flicks to the right and it won't sit on th left of the track. Is this something to do with me having two lots of double tracks going out the terminal or through station? Do I need to relay them as singles track instead - if you are following me right?!

Have you tried using the rotation tool to get the signal on the correct side of the track?
I'm not sure about UK signals, but for the USA ones, there are usually ones with "L" or "Left" in the name, which are intended to be used on the left side.
I would guess though, that since UK is left side of the road by default, yours would be marked R or Right.

Another problem you might have is that you are placing the signal at the wrong spot close to a junction.

Hope this helps.

Pretty certain the default Auran UK colour lights come in LH and RH varieties. Semaphores might be a bit trickier, probably need to look if there is a gantry version, otherwise you are into placing in the "six foot" with very limited clearance, for the RH track.

I'm using TRS06. When I put the first signal in on the first track it was fine then on the secon third etc it sets at the wrong side but when you rotate it faces the wrong direction.

Went out of the route and started a "new" one just to try an experiment with signals. Seems I was right about trying to get two signals facing the same way on a set double track. My way round this will be to have to relay the offending bits with single track.

For double track, I use a RH signal for one track, a LH for the other, or use gantry signals.
Got to watch the gantry though. If you don't use at least a 2 track gantry, the signals will appear to hang in mid air.

Are these named a such on the DLS? That would save me the footery repalinc of tracks at the two main stations?

Hi Bob,

There is a gantry spline on the DLS, it is name LMS gantry and the LMS gantry semaphores fit with a little bit of fuss to align them on the gantry. Click on the rail below the gantry then you might have to move the signals fore or aft a bit to get them to sit on the gantry.

Thanks for that info. As it happens my route build is a modern setting one in Ulster so light signals. It is obvious that I will need to replace the double track with two single tracks at the offending bits of 2-way traffic. Small price to pay to get what I want!
