Signals help

can anyone tell me where to look for some help on how to put in signals the right way? i am using trainz 12 and have read the manual and the book that comes with the game. they are no help to me. any help would be great. thanks

How would we make a it so the signals are normaly red,
and become green (or yellow) only when a train approaches and
it is safe to proceed ? (referring to a crossing shown in the above link)
