Signal USA L03

When would a Signal USA L03 be used?

Before you come to a USA L02.

just off to the side of a set of Railroad tracks in the USA. far enough away as to not let the train hit it; but yet close enough so the engineer can see it.

I figured it was before an USA L02. Should it have the same indication as the L02?

I'm using 2009 and regardless of which I place (L03 or 03) the indication does not change regardless of the direction of the turnout (main or diverge). Is this just a quirk of 09?

When in Surveyor and when you place your L03 . . . or any "L" signal . . . You need to drop in a rolling stock on the track just before the signal. NOW when you change the switch direction, the indication should change.

Now if I can just remember if the top or the bottom was for the diverge . . .

There is a "signal tutorial" pdf. somewhere . . . can someone post a link to the tutorial??

I have the tutorial. I've just never used an 03 signal before. I've placed the L02 and it works fine for the junction . However when I place the L03 it does not change indication regardless of the position of the turnout. The L02 changes, but not the L03.

Hi,

As the others have said, you place (L)03 signals before (L)02 signals at the entrance of sidings or passing loops.

Now the reason why I am posting, Trainz signaling does not work 'prototypical' as you would expect, Trainz does not support it, I mentioned this during the Beta when the (L)03 signals were missing and I use them on my layouts.

You are finding that they are not working as they should due to Trainz not supporting it.
