Signal question

I just bought Trainz 22 PE edition and I am absolutely loving it. I was a model railroader for years but no longer have the space for layout. This allows me to have a virtual one now and I am so happy.

In going through the tutorials near the the end of the tutorial 5, there is a signal that has 3 red targets on it, stacked one over the other.

It can be seen at the 1:28:05 mark of this video.

What kind of signal is that and how do you interpret it? Thanks.

It seems to be the same issue:

Thanks for the reply. I can get past the point where I need to wait for the passenger train.

My question was related to how to interpret a signal. At the start of tutorial 9 there is the same type of signal.

Here's a screenshot of the signal in question.

I wasn't sure how to determine what the signal was telling me. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that there are two paths after the signal but wasn't sure.

That signals is an interlocking signal, a Type 08 according to N3V's and Jointed Rail's nomenclature.

I made the transition from real models to TRS2004 back in December 2003 and I haven't looked back. You'll find yourself very addicted as you create your own route and enjoy the work of others. When I first started, I built a virtual real-scale version of my model railroad in early January 2004 that I originally built back in 1984. The route still exists, having survived many Trainz versions and many additions, deletions, and renovations.

On a three-headed signal, the top head is for the high-speed route (straight through), the middle head is for the medium-speed route, and the bottom head is for the low-speed route. That is the basic concept, but there are variations.
