Signal Head And Gantry Aligiment ?

Hi All, I am Trying to install overhead signals and gantry's on a Uk Based Layout, but I am having difficulty aligning the signals heads to the gantry's.

The Problem is compounded more when trying to get Two Or More signal heads facing in the same direction on double or triple main lines, the heads keep swapping tracks while trying to move them.

Are there any tricks you guys could share with me in moving the signal heads along the line in a smooth progressive manner rather than in jumping increments that I am encountering.

Thank you

Jimbo.

Get pretty much vertically above the track and zoom in fairly close. Move the things incrementally - don't go dragging them long distances all at once, tweak them, release the mouse, tweak them again. Focus on keeping the cursor dead centre of the track - not always easy!

In tight situations I have been known to get one right, then save, get the second one, save etc...

Andy :)

Much Later Edit: I never think about layers, but if the sheer joy of facing and beating a challenge lacks appeal you could simply put each part of the composite on it's own layer and once the overall assembly is 'right' merge it all back down to the route layer....

I've found the most accurate way to be:
Place the signals on short lengths of track and move the spline points to position the signals exactly where you want them, then connect the rest of your track to these sections.

Thank you Andy And Chris for your Reply's.

Using a combination of your Ideas namely, vertically overhead and short lengths of track has improved things dramatically and afer a few hours of practice I am starting to align the signals quickly.

Practice and Patience goes along way with this great Sim

Cheers :)

Jimbo.
