Signal distance from track

Is there any way that the distance of a signal from the track can be altered? Reason I ask is that I have a signal on our local station that is at the end of the platform but about half way into the width of it. However when I place a signal in the game it sits almost at the edge of the platform rather than a couple of feet into it. Can this be altered? (just to clarify - Im talking of the distance at right angles to the track).

You can alter the trackside signal numeral in the config file, and make a signal, closer, or farther, from the track.

Hi

Just to clarify the reply from cascaderailroad. The tag in the config file is trackside and it is normally set to -2.5 for UK signals. You can make a signal for the right hand side of the track by removing the - sign. To make your signal further away from the track make the negative figure less e.g. -3.5. Remember to clone the signal first and give it a new name otherwise all of the same type of signal on the route will move out to the new distance.
