Signal a Double Slip Help

I have a double slip in my yard coming off the main line. I have 2 main lines one runs east the other west. the yard comes off the east heading track with a right turnout, which goes to the yard ladder. next is the double slip, it feeds eithier a service line (first yard siding) or the ladder but then you can back up on the service line (backing up heading west onto the service overrun amount). i have a USA Signal 2 02 at the main line switch and that works and signals on all the sidings (11 sidings) but i cant get the double slip to signal right. If im correct with the USA signal 2 L 02 (because the service line is served by a left turnout) the bottom light is the siding and the upper is the main or straight run. But i cant get it to signal right. If you need a picture i can get one after work tommorow.

G'day Chris,

Although I haven't actually entered into this particular debate prior to this, looking at the whole picture, it would seem that many forget that one of the important 'components' (if you will) of a 'double slip' is a diamond crossing (is not a 'double slip', in reality, nothing more than a very compact scissors crossing, or even more basic, two sets of opposing handed points, whose diverging tracks meet at a diamond in the middle?)...

All my double slips, and I have made many in my World, have four switches. I use something called Junction controller V2, so that throwing one causes the next to align. Then I use lanterns (German style) made on a KUID:32105:23326 (There are many based on this) to indicate the direction of the points. Remember that you need functionality above all, so your operations are confortable and trains move without having to think too much.

USA (and poddibly other) signals showing incorrect divergence is most likely caused by the fact that signals scrpited for TRS04 are sometimes broken in TRS06 and later, and vise-versa. Make sure that the sigs you are using were scripted for the TRS version you are running. (trainzbuild 2.4 or lower for TRS04, trainzbuild 2.5 or greater for TRS06+)

Well im running TS2006 SP1, how would i know what build i am using. The signals that i am using are the default ones that come with the simulator. I have tried the Junction controller and i havent been able to get it to work i tried checking for version 2 but cant find it on CMP.

06SP1 is trainzbuild 2.6

Use cmp to open the config for the signals you are using and look for the trainzbuild tag. If it is 2.4 or lower there may be a scripting issue...

Junction Controller V2 by MiZi is on the DLS here.

Be aware that using JCv2 (or MiZi's similar Junction Link) can cause an approaching train to throw junctions under a train already occupying the crossing. Getting it right takes a fair bit of testing.....

Diverge signals dont operate correct unless it sees a signal on the diverge bit of track. An example is two tracks with a crossover from one to the other A diverge signal sees the main line ahead if it is signaled but the section between the two tracks is not signaled so the diverge signal wont show correct. Place an invisible signal on the bit between the two tracks and it works ok. Some signals are scripted to work with feathers (bloodnok) and require these to be placed in order to work correct.

Here is a picture of the problem.
How can the train on the Service Line Get a green Light when the train on the ladder is heading for the main line.

The simple answer is that neither train is on the same track. The path of the service line train is not used by the train on the ladder so the signals will not see it and will see the line ahead as being clear. You will need the diamond crossing rule or trigger multiple signals rule to overcome this.

This note is not directly relevant to the issue at hand, where stagecoach has the winning hand, but you also have a problem with lever placement. If the lever near the point of the green arrow controls Junction 12 then it must be moved to the other side of the junction spline point. To operate correctly the AI must see signal/lever/junction in that order....

You could try the Trigger Multiple Signals rule (<KUID2:116387:26:1>) but last time I tried I didn't get it working the way it should.

I have given up on singaling a double slip i have just gone back to a junction to right off the main line to the service line and a junction off the service line to the right to the yard ladder. now i am trying to figure out how to set a rule up so a train entering the junction off the main line switchs the junction ahead of it to line it up but switch back if a train is on the service line later on and i cant get it to switch back.
