I have been having dificulty downloading and installing senarios from DLS and Razorback, ie dependances missing.

It appears that SP4 is essential. I can't find a SP4 for my version which is TRS2004 build 2370.

could someone please advise.

On another matter I bought a 3 month FCT to try and speed up the downloads, but my download is still only 4kbs/sec.

I find the downloading and installing process very complicated and lengthy compared to other sim games.

is this normal for Trainz or am I dooing something wrong.

Why cant all the dependancys be packaged together and the downloading made simpler.

As I said in my post the other day I am a newbie and am enjoing the game but am very frustrated when it comes to downloading

Thanks in advance for any replies and help with my problems

Hi Bill ... Join the club. I have TRS2006 and downloading anything (content and service packs) even with the FCT has been VERY painful. I've given up for now and removed Trainz from my computer. See my "TRS2006 Hackers Software" thread/post.

2370 is SP4, you already have it.

Have you activated it in your profile? You sometimes also have to re-enter your password in your profile to kick it into life.

They could all be packaged together, but then you would have duplicate files taking up lots of disk space that isn't necessary. Route creators would also have to get permission from every single creator of each item on their route. This way they are only referencing the content and don't need to do it.

It should get better, stick at it.

Service Packs

Hi Bill

As far as Service Packs are concerned, if you have build 2370 then you already have SP4 installed. However, if for some reason you need a further copy have a look in the TRS2004 forum and the second sticky is entitled "Direct link to service packs 2004 ". The second post in that thread contains links to the various Service Packs available. Follow the link for SP4 and select the build number you want to upgrade from.

You don't say when you bought your FCT but I understand that they don't always work immediately. Mine worked straight from the tin. If you've been struggling with slow rates for a while it would be worth contacting the Help Desk. They're usually very helpful (hence the name) but bare in mind that their working day is 12 hours ahead of ours so you may not get an instant reply.

Cheers

TD

Bill,

Run TRS2004 and check what build number the program itself displays on its menu screen. If it says 2370 then as the other guyz have already said you're all ok and don't need to take any action.

For the Razorback, use Janus (our free TRS2004 asset management utility) and use it to download our asset packs using the second column of links it displays. If you have any questions, no matter how simple you think they are, please feel free to ask on our forum. We fully appreciate that resolving missing asset problems is often extremely complicated and lots of people have trouble with it. By the way, check out our FAQ for full details of how to download, install and use Janus here.

Hope this helps, John

Thanks for your advice. I checked for the missing files with Janus and downloaded from RBS, by the way is much quicker than the DLS, and all my downloaded RBS senarios work.

Thamks again for your advice and speed of your response.

Bill
