Was I supposed to get a serial number in my email or is there some page stupidly hidden on the site that i get it from?

 Hi Layton
Please take a look at the Holidays Announcements

QUOTE
Another year has passed several new Trainz products released. We would like to thank all of you for your continued support over the last year and as we move forward into next one continuing our development of the greatest Train Simulation product around.

We would like to wish all of you and your families a happy holiday and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year.

Auran and N3V Games will be shutting down for 2 weeks over the holiday period. During this time the helpdesk will still be manned though at a reduced rate, so it may take a little longer than normal to receive a reply, however please be patient and your tickets will be answered. Likewise shipping of products will also be continuing over this period.

Typeing in Caps means you are shouting and it wont get you any where

How did you obtain your copy of Trainz? If you have a disk, the serial number will be somewhere on the package, but if you chose a downloaded version. your serial number was given to you in the email that acknowleged your purchase.

If you calm down, people will try and help, shrieking, swearing and wetting your pants will get you nowhere.

Alright then, I was patient, I waited and waited and waited and it's been 4 days with neither a single email from auran nor ANY response from helpdesk.

I think I have a right to complain.

This wouldn't have happened if I had just gotten Railworks.
I wouldn't have to wait a week just to get the serial code to activate a download that will take days on their crappy servers, to download an overly bugged TRAIN SIMULATOR that looks like it has 2004 graphics.

As its matter of life or death, that you get this game going LOL

Is it showing here?

Did you download it or get a DVD pack?

have you tried looking in your junkmail folder?

I'm actually considering buying it again just to see if the confirmation email doesn't get eaten this time.

No, you would be cursing Steam for not being online when you want to use RW. We all have our crosses to bear. At least with Trainz, once it's installed you never have to access the Internet again if you don't want to. Read the RW forums for tales of woe concerning all things Steam before making unfavorable comparisons.

Well, that solves the serial number problem that the rest of you were too busy bitching at me to tell me about...

But OF COURSE now It won't let me connect to the serial number imput page WHICH WAS FINE 5 MINUTES AGO

Yelling at us is not going to get you very much help. The members here are just trying to help you. I've bought all of my editions of Trainz in a box, so I can't be much help on the downloaded version serial number. If you'll be a little patient and a little less rude, then I'm sure that someone will be able to help you.
Mike
