Searching for this tracks...

Hello,

I'm working in a prototypical near the Andes region and need to find tracks that should look like the images enclosed.

No idea how to make them by myself (in that case, I would prefer use SketchUp)

Have you ever seen tracks like this?
Searched the DLS but I wasn't able to find what I need.

Thanks!!

Will these do...

They are from the Romanian Trainz Studio and they have a unique track sound too, here is the link... http://www.trainzro.com/

Just scroll down the page until you come to a picture that loks the same as above.

Hope this helps

Thanks airtime & fwassner!

You're welcome!
One thing I didn't like about the RTS track though, is the sound. On my mainline, where I am using a welded rail, there are no "click-clack" so I have to disable the sound.
I am trying to create a good sound for welded rail, but my laptop computer isn't working, and it's the only recording device I have to go trackside with:(
As soon as I fix the computer, and the weather cools down, I'll try to create a bunch of welded rail sounds (for different speeds and types of train).
If I do that, I will upload the .wav files for all to use.

When discussig track you should specify the gauge you want. Yours look to be metre gauge, most ones available are Standard gauge. All you need for your track would be Rail only, no visible sleepers.

Are you making the Transandine Railway? If these are of any interest, there are Kitson Meyer locos and some Chilean rolling stock on

You will also find 42" track there.

Hey Peter!

Yes, I'm working exactly on the Ramal C-14 Transandine railway from Salta to Antofagasta via Socompa.

To be honest about gauges, I never paid attention to them.
In fact, since I'm new with TRS, I just put tracks and that's all.
What should I have in mind? Have in mind I don't have an idea on this matter
Which problems may affect me?

Thanks!

My reference shows the gauge as 1 metre in the days when it was worked by Kitson Meyer steam locos. I'm guessing that it would be electric or diesel now and it may have been regauged. If you are not too concerned about accuracy then go for standard gauge, you have a much better choice of locos and stock.

Your photos look like metre gauge but that does reduce your other choices considerably.

Hello Peter,

Will try then to stick to the meter gauge but if the rolling stock is difficult to get, I will move to the gauge that provides me more options.

I've checked that site you suggested but can't find tracks like rail only - no sleepers"

Thanks!
