Searching for DHR Beta testers

Franklin_Prestage

DHR Chief Engineer
Greetings all:

I am told by my trusty engineers that the DHR is ready for what they term 'Beta Testing' and that I should appeal to the Trainz 2004 community for them. What we need are two to four persons who would be willing to download approximately 39Mb of route and, perhaps, another 20Mb of content. There are some rules, however, that would have to be satisfied:

1. No public comments until official release of the route.

2. It will be a huge download, not entirely sure, but the route itself is around 39 Mb (in raw form, not CDP) and the required content could reach as much as 20 Mb in addition (in raw form, not CDP).

3. If you get selected as a tester, or not, is not subject for argument either in the Forum or with our members.

4. You agree to let us know what type of system you have (hardware, etc) so that we may judge how others will fare against it. This can be by private email if you desire.

5 If the download seems large, I can send a CD with the required items on it provided you release your mailing address to just me.

If these conditions are agreeable, email the Chief Coordinator at this address:

hiballer AT sbcglobal.net <- change to 'at' sign & remove spaces

Thank you one and all.

Wow DHR in Beta Phase!

Congratulations! DHR is heading into Beta Phase! I have been following this project for years and wondered when this day would arrive. Although I don't have the time to be a Beta tester, your team should have no problem getting volunteers. Good luck!:Y:

I'd be interested, however my computer is low end and tends to choke on graphic rich content, but it may be a good test for your layout and helpful to other minimum requirement computer owners if it runs smoothly enough. I will send you email with my computer specs.

I would be very interested in beta testing.
Computer specs are:
CPU: Intel Core2Duo 6420 @ 2.13GHz
RAM: 2GB
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT (512MB)

Running TRS2004 (SP4) and TRS2006 (SP1).

Sending email now :)

I am sorry for the mistake made in estimating the size of the content necessary to populate our 36Mb map. We have been so used to having everything we need on our computers, we forgot that all of it was custom made and would have to be supplied. A revised byte-count of the content that would need to be put on your computer in the downloads folder stands at 643Mb. Even Zipped, this comes to just over 307Mb to download.

I regret the error. If this revises your enthusiasm for Beta testing that is certainly understandable.

Bill
