Searching Download Staion is impossible

Searching is useless. I search layouts for "switching" or "switch" and get 1 layout. I look at other layouts and the descriptions are vague. It looks like an ocean of stuff (good news, right?) but impossibly disorganized.

I searched on "steam switcher" got nothing. Got 1000 hits for "switcher".

Impossible.

I am looking for switching layouts with small steam switchers in US outlines.

Also, black widow southern Pacific GPs.

Help.

Thanks,

That's because descriptions are often sparse or non-existent. CMP actually has a method to add keywords to local content to make classification easier. On top of everything else, there are different terminologies e.g. "shunting" versus "switching." Then, there could be obscure terms like "black widow" which probably most content creators have never heard of.

These forums excel at helping people locate content. Do some searching or, if you can't find what you're looking for, asking. You might get pointers to non-DLS content as well.

One of the best 0-6-0 switchers is by altodave. It is ATSF 0-6-0 #9001,<kuid2:46075:6830:9>. To get it:
Start Content Manager and on the left find the Search Panel. Click the double arrow to expand it if necessary. Click the pull down arrow and select Category and in the side box click the arrow and select Locomotives. Click the + sign in the box and in the box next to Name enter 0-6-0 then click apply. Download the ATSF 0-6-0 #9001,<kuid2:46075:6830:9> for a starter. If it doesn't automatically commit click it to highlight it and then press Ctrl M.

You don't say where you're searching, and we can't see what version you are using - using the online DLS here: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php and ensure that you tick older versions can make it easier to find stuff. Don't forget to try searching the description as well as the title.
