That screenshot wins hands down ! You got my vote !

I may have to try taking a screenshot myself, of my hump yard, but I just cant seem to get a realistic view ... but yours is gonna be real hard to beat ... Unless Ekankal, Mezzoprezzo, or some of the other greats, enter a screenshot

First of all, I only have Trainz MAC, the original MAC version, because that is the ONLY version that has ever been made for MAC. All it is, is Trainz 10 reprogrammed for MAC. In other words, my version is far more primitive that those of you who have Trainz 12. So I don't have a prayer of winning the screenshot contest because of all of you out there with the vastly superior Trainz 12. You all have an unfair advantage over me. Secondly, the theme for this week is also unfair to me because Trainz MAC does not have any hump yard components in it at all. So I can't even build a hump yard at all, at least not one that looks realistic anyway. So there is no point at all in my entering this week's contest. I've been left high and dry. Thanks a lot. And no, I am not whining, I am pointing things out that needed to be pointed out, that's all.

Oh boo hoo. I had Trainz Mac for a really long time while my PC was being repaired, and it is equal to TS12. The content is the only thing that is different. For example, TS MAC has the doppler effect that came with TS12. It is not "primitive." You are not at a disadvantage, stop whining and crying about nothing. The humpyard components that have been made for Trainz work in TS MAC as well, so that puts you on an equal playing field in that regard. You are not "pointing anything out," you are whining and complaining about nothing.

Also, register your Trainz version, it might help a bit.

drphlox,

I rather think that your comment was unfair and could loose me votes too! ;)

A classification yard (American and Canadian English) or marshalling yard (including hump yards) (British, Indian English and Canadian English) ...
So who is to say that the marshalling yards outside Skipton were not gravity-assisted hump yards. I don't know! Do you?

It's up to Nick to decide these sort of things and I will happily abide by his decision (but then I would then expect to be able to legitimately re-use my screenshot another time).

At the other end of the Settle and Carlisle line was (a couple of decades later than shown in my screenshot) Carlisle Kingmoor marshalling yard:

Opening in 1963, Carlisle Kingmoor once had the accolade of being Europe's largest marshalling yard ...

By the way, I like Sci-Fi too, Dr Phlox! But lets keep to posting screenshots, eh?

Peter.

jacksonbarno, Trainz MAC is equal to Trainz 12? I emailed N3V games about it and they confirmed to me that it is, in fact, Trainz 10, NOT Trainz 12. You don't know what you are talking about. Also, NONE of the deciduous trees (maple, oak, elm, etc.) work properly in Trainz MAC. They don't have any leaves on them. No foliage at all, just bare branches. I have searched and searched and searched in Trainz MAC for hump yard components and have not found a single one. Also, I have noticed that there are many, many locomotives and rolling stock, not to mention buildings, etc., in other people's submissions to these contests that are not in Trainz MAC, and I CANNOT download them because NONE of the downloadable content is MAC format. It is ALL for PC only. I have noticed that the overall quality of the scenes in other submissions is far superior than anything I have been able to create. There are so many things in those scenes that Trainz MAC just does not have, and, as I said above, CANNOT be downloaded. So know all the facts before posting your assinine and inappropriate comments. You are behaving very much like a typical American.

I know from experience. It is Trainz 2010 in terms of content, yes, but it has some features of TS12. Also, the tree issue can be easily fixed by changing the date in the edit environment tab under options. I do, in fact know what i am talking about because I use Trainz Mac extensively and about half of my screenshots are taken in Trainz MAC. The screenshot that I entered in the last competition was taken in Trainz MAC. Before shooting your mouth off, try these things:
-Using Google
-Searching the DLS
-Asking on the forums

If none of the above help you, then you are on your own. Also, have you ever stopped to think that maybe you can't create good scenes because of your skill level in making routes?
All of the content made for Trainz versions on PC is able to work on a mac, the files are no different.
Look on the forums for a hump yard kit, there is one around here somewhere.
Most of the locomotives and cars and some buildings and other stuff was downloaded from 3rd party sites.

Also, I'm glad to see that you think I act like a "typical American." I am proud of my country and I am proud to be an American. It isn't an insult, it's a complement, thank you very much!

So no, I wasn't being an "asshole," I was just "pointing something out that needed to be pointed out, that's all."

Also, registering your Trainz version would probibally help.
