Greetings.

Show us some significant locomotives in railroading history. Class leaders are usually the first unit of a series, and can also be specially built for a specific company or railroad's requirements. This week's theme is brought to you by Jamie (H222); Class Leaders. Please send your theme suggestions for subsequent competitions via email or Skype by clicking on the little icons below my username.

One screenshot allowed per entrant. Screenshots must adhere to the theme and the Trainz Forum Code of Conduct.
Submission closes on February 2 at
12:00 noon UTC/GMT/Zulu time.

Cheerio,
Nicholas

This might be kind of a dumb question, but can these "class leaders" be fictional. Or does it have to be prototype-related.

No.1 'Talyllyn' and No.2 'Dolgoch' were built in 1864 & 1866 respectively to work the Talyllyn Railway. They worked the line solo until 1951 when No.3 'Sir Haydn' and No.4 'Edward Thomas' were bought and brought in.

How about N&W's J600 in T:ANE ce 1.1

Installed without any errors or warnings but I think the smoke volume is down a bit and the engine spec needs to be modified for T:ANE.

You can't have a screenshot thread about 'Class Leaders' wirhout a picture of Richard Trevithick's original Pen-y-darran engine!

First of the last

.
The final class of steam locomotives built in the UK for use on British Railways was the classic 9F.

Introduced in January 1954, the class comprised 251 locomotives. Many of the class lasted only a few years in service before withdrawal when steam traction ended on the mainline in Britain. Withdrawals of the class from everyday service began in May 1964, and had been completed by June 1968.

Here’s the first number in the series, 92000.

After more than a century of steam railways the local cattle got quite used to trains running close by!

Cheers
