Any names that are missing are left out because they didn't follow the theme. I've had this happen before, and I let it slide, but not this time. Apologies to those that were left out but we have a theme for a reason; i.e. To make it more challenging.

then they need to be stated at the beginning of the competition, not just snuck under the carpet to be used to shout at people with.

(I don't know why you guys stick to your stupid themes anyways, all your doing is making people not enter having them.)

Can we please keep this friendly? Would it not be boring to have "no theme" every week? The themes help give the contest some variety, they give us a goal screenshot type and help bring out the best from all of us in screenshots belonging to the theme. So rather than being defiant and making this contest unenjoyable, follow the rules and keep it fun and friendly! Hmmmm...maybe we just need to get the moderators to watch over the competition or even run it. Then y'all would probably quit yappin'.

Except there was no rule stated upon entry into the competition that off topic screenshot were not allowed. I'll will quite gladly admit that I posted an off topic screenshot, my point is that if you are going to enforce rules those rules need to be listed at the beginning of the competition & then followed thru fully, not just applied to those people you do not like.

FWIW, if you want to be fair SantaFeBuff's shot is marginal - early diesel, rather than steam, but in the spirit so might be considered okay. Hert; about 1956 was the last of the last steam in regular service, no such road as Amtrack and PRR and NYC hadn't merged yet so no Penn Central. Red TVRM: CSX didn't exist, Chesapeake and Ohio in the days of steam, and that modern diesel (don't even know what it is, SD70 AC44 Dash9 they all look alike to me) wasn't even on the drawing boards.

Gonna disqualify one for posting something not in keeping with the theme, gotta disqualify everyone who missed the target.

My three votes are for me cuz I got a steam loco and a yard full of nothing but steam era freight cars.

Right, can I go on a limb here saying that for those who are doing the right thing and not making a fuss, Thank You. You are making it much easier to deal with. To those who are making a fuss, does it occur to you that you might be taking this too seriously? Its just a game, not a world war where you need to have your way to keep the peace.

I've taken UP4021's idea of taking off-topic votes to count as half, if it makes you feel better, but I stand by what I say, "A theme is placed so that a challenge is presented to the enterants as well as gives nice idea of what you depict as the theme expresses." It's not easy running these competitions, and the fact that I may have overlooked some of the shots due to time is a mistake, I admit, but as you clearly want things your way (I'm not naming names) I'll go over everything again. Shots that I have deemed 'not-to-theme' have had the previso that they coult for half (sorry Hert, but from my depiction Amtrak and steam workings hardly co-inside) Red's shot was overlooked due to dial-up speed internet (something that is still present in Australia) and voting towards it has also been rectified.

As I said people, it isn't easy running these competitions, and no-one is asking you to join them. Why do you think I run 'No Theme' comps every so often? So people who don't like following a guideline can show off what they want. If you don't like it, don't join. Simple as that. Wait till you feel a theme follows your criteria. Some people are just too picky.

Now, I'm well aware that some mods will be watching this thread now, and I urge them to follow it incase this conflict keeps happening, and for those who think it's OK to keep arguing, leave away from here, so the people who DO want to keep this friendly comp alive can do so. Don't ruin their fun, and maybe one day you'll have a chance to show what you have, without consequences.
