Screenshot in Win 7

Hi, Can anyone tell me the trick for taking screenshots in Ts2009 using Windows 7 64bit? I have been trying for ages, a screenshot seems to be taken when I press 'PrtScn' because there is a slight lag, but I can't find it anywhere on the computer after exiting the game. I have tried searching and tried looking in all the likley folders, but nothing to be found.

Cheers,

Hi Peter,

Yep, that's the first place I looked, I have quite a few there which have been transfered from my old computer but nothing with today's date. So I looked through them all one at a time and nothing even remotely like the one I had just tried to take.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi
Iam using TRS09 and W7 - 64 bit too and I have the pictures normally in the folder screenshot(s) in the games folder.

There was a time once on my friends game that when he took a screenie, it would go to the "My Pictures" folder. We just left it at that, we didnt care as long as we could find it.

Well thank you all for trying to help but still no luck. I gave up and went back to 2004 for the screenshot I wanted. It works fine in 2004 so it's not Win 7 to blame. Must be something in trainz not installed as it should be, I might do a reinstall see if that fixes it.

Thanks again,

Bill69, when I take a screenie in TRS2009 I press "PrtScrn" then open Adobe Photoshop (or Windows Paint) and select "New From Clipboard".Does that not work in Win 7?

Hi lewisner,

Yes I have found it works in TRS2004 but not in TS2009. That is why I think I need to reinstall 2009.

Thanks,

Hi Bill,

I seem to remember this was an issue on older builds of 2009 - have you tried updating to the latest service pack?
You might also try changing from direct-x to Open GL rendering or vice-versa.

Hi Curtis,

I have found the problem. When I built my new computer I moved a HDD, which had TS2009 installed, to my new computer. Thus, although TS2009 was up to date and ran perfectly well, it was not actually installed on the new computer, in the sense it had no entries in the registry. I discovered this when trying to uninstall, there was no instance of TS2009 in Add & Remove programs. This is what caused the lack of saving of screenshots. A re-install has fixed the problem.

Thanks,
Bill
