Here is a shot of a New Zealand loco Ka935 with a 1000 ton coal train on the Makatote Viaduct, central North Island New Zealand

A busy October night at Moravia Yard...

It's been raining for nearly a week now and finally some clear weather has passed over Moravia Valley show off its beauty on a fall evening.

As the city shifts from night to day, the same seams to be happning in Moravia Yard. NYA #271 in 9/11 mural paint and NYA #270 lead some emptys out to the harbor. Conrail Quality #2909 sits after shunting some cars in the local yard waiting for a new crew.

Across the way Conrail #1976 and Conrail Quality #1967 slowly pass by, as maintenance crews are doing repairs on the decaying yard tracks. Over head on the bridge, Chessie System GM50 and a LIRR loco pass with a coal train heading for the mine.

Weight restrictions have been placed on the bridge but no one seams to be following them. With the line havent been used for nearly a decade it might take an accident to teach these engineers a lesson. It might be closer than anyone could think...
