scanning for deleted assets

Within the last week I've had to waste over an hour each time trainz scans for deleted assets.

I've never seen this before does anyone know why?? Is this something new? Why does it keep reoccuring?

It could be caused by you shutting off you computer while TADDeamon is running. If it gets interrupted I think that it will want to do a database repair next time you start the game.

I cant check right now but you can set TADDeamon to show in the task bar while its running (I thinks its soewhere in the options screen when you start the game) When its gone from the task baqr it is safe to shut down the computer

Dave,

Do you wait a few minutes before shutting down your computer if you've used Trainz just before?

The TrainzUtil andTADDaemon run in the background and need to clean things up before they shut completely down. By turning off the computer right away, the database may become corrupt and that will cause the message you are seeing.

I checked the Show Database processe window under the Option on the launcher screen in the Developer's tab. When the processes have stopped, and the command prompt closes, I know it's safe to shutdown my computer.

Hi Andy - we posted at the same time. :)

Thanks for the information. I'll try and watch for it in the future. I've been doning a lot of work in surveyor lately so maybe that's it.

I'll check out the option bar and see what I can do.

Thanks again
Dave

Dave,

To show TADDeamon on your task bar launch the game and from the splash screen go into options. Go into the 'Developer' tab and putr a tick in 'Show database process window'
