Saving New Route / Session

I have opened a route (ie, CR Beavermouth to Ottertail) and immediately saved it as a new route (CR Beavermouth to Ottertail - XX) and session (CR Beavermouth to Ottertail - Default XX) so that I can modify this new "base" route and default session. After making some changes/modifications, I go to the Save As option and sometimes it gives me the option to Overwrite the existing route and existing session, but a lot of the time it only gives me the option to overwrite the existing session. Is there a particular reason for this inconsistency?

I don't have TRS22, but in the cases where it only offers saving a session, I believe that all of your current alterations have happened in the session layer.

You'll need to check which layer the changes you've made are in and use the "?" tool on track and turnouts to set them into the route layer.

Note that you may have to edit the route and session layers to clean up having track assets in both layers.

At least that's my guess of what you might be dealing with.

When you open your edit session, you are automatically on the session layer. All your work will be on that layer. In the layers tab, you need to merge the session layer into the route layer.
