Can anyone help this techno thickie ?

I have a route i don't want to lose but i will be scrapping the laptop i'm running it on.....will it save automatically to my trainz 2009 disk and be ready to run on another computer when i pop it in ?

No.
You will have to use CM and bring your route up. R/click and make a CDP of it. Then transfer that to a disc for use on your new comp.

.CDP will save only the route, not any content that is not built-in.
You will also need to create an archive of the route's dependencies, or just create a .cdp that includes all the dependencies. You can always re-download any missing ones once you import the route into the new installation.
Also, be sure that the build # of TS is the same on both installations.
