SATA V's IDE DVDRW Drive to install OS

Another problem I came across doing this format/reinstall of WINXP.

I have recently replaced my IDE burner with a SATA one so this is the first format/reinstall with this drive.
I booted from the CD as usual but kept getting an error screen after all the drivers etc had loaded pointing to my SATA drive & WINXP disk saying an error had occured & do a diskcheck & virus scan on it.
Everything I tried failed so I put my IDE burner back in & loaded without any problems.

Question : Do you need to load drivers at the prompt for a sata dvd drive to work & if so what ?

The driver should already be in the firmware.

Perhaps you need to change the setting in BIOS. Consult the systemboard-manual.
