Safty Vavles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????

Sorry if this seems childly(maybe)
But the safty valve on many of my steam trainz broke (as in the train stop'
mouving then a loud sound errupts from the train!!? And in some casses while
the train is in motion?) I did two thing 1 DELETE all of the loco's dependencies and had no effect:n: , 2 going the the config and loking for the cause and here is where I am stuck, I don't know the name of that "vavle" or dependencie to fix.
If their is any way to fix the loco's please help!:'(

Learn How To Manage It

Instead of deleting the problem, how about learning to manage it?

To build up steam, open one injector. Then shovel coal to around 80%.
The loco should build steam by itself, when the safety valves pop, this is not a bad thing, it means you have plenty of steam, the boiler's limit, if you will.
Start driving the train. If the safeties pop while going, it happens to me a lot, open both injectors, but make sure the water is low enough. Then shut off the regulator. The sudden addition of cold water to the boiler should cool the fire, making less steam. Or open the cylinder drain/cocks, this is a bit faster when used while both injectors are open. Once the safety valves stop, continue on your way. Then, if you have low steam, do what I said first.

The safety valves pop at, for example, 250psi in the BR Standard 9F. In this loco, around 200psi is, if you want my opinion, the optimum pressure.

If you have a long route, or play for ages like me:hehe:, you may have to follow this procedure dozens upon dozens of times.

If you are talking about what the safety valve does in DC mode, there is no way to change it as it is hard coded in the Trainz program. I agree it is far too loud and have complained about this but nothing has happened yet and I doubt it ever will.

well for me i use DC mode. They are thomas the tank engines that have the problume. The rest of my UK US BR DB and other thomas trainz work fine!
Thease are the engines
Thomas (all the time)
Edward (all the time)
Hiro (once)
At first they "valve" would burst when they derailed!
One day I decided to take thomas for a run on cab mode. his valve did not bursed untill he ran out of coal? NOT WATER!!! And every time he cugs for 10 sec at 10mph the valve would burst same whit edward. (speed and time are just exemples)
But after I downloaded Lady who has the same sound Thomas the valve stopped for a while. Again same whit edward who has a different sound. yet lady still hasent bust the valve? even after racing at max speed for 10 minutes behind a faster engine? wath's up with that? sereousely!
I know I will try to get rid of the VACs!
Maybe that will help. If not I will reinstall my test Trainz

Thomas doesn't seem to have the Idle Vac, Low Vac or High Vac?
So why does this happen still?
Also Hiro is the only engine with those VACs

I am missing that dependencie for the vacs (the texture for the vacs) but the engines still work fine

So I tride to change the engine from steam to diesle.
All it had was traincar or maybe I should look closser I will keep looking!

If the problem is the loud hiss of the safety valves as the engine goes along, just look for the appropriate enginespec in cmp, go to the config file and look under the heading 'steam' for:

safety-valve-low-pressure 1004.5
safety-valve-high-pressure 1038 (using Thomas as an example)

Raise each value by one hundred (or a little more more if the problem persists). In play the valves should not hiss for more than a few minutes at a time, although some hissing is, of course, quite natural and necessary to avoid a boiler burst!

Another thing you might want to know - the vacs ( high, low and idle ) aren't anything to do with the valves, but are the brake lines, as most steam trains were vacuum braked ( vac braked )

So it had nothing to do with the VACs.
