S&C Pack- are the extra updates needed?

Not at all.
You might want some of the extra content (Sessions, Class 45, extra signals, etc) from the S&C site, but stay clear of the TC3 support site when you have S&C.

That's if you're not to SP1 yet. If you are, the pack you download includes the updates. The Lowmac and 5MT from the site are also included.

No, I mean Service Pack 1 for TS12.Fantastic! Thanks guysI presume by SP1, you mean the service pack for S&C, not TS12?
To sum up:
If you do not go to Service Pack 1 with TS12, then you will need the updates from the website.
If you do patch TS12 to Service Pack 1, then you do not need the updates from the site. They will download automatically in the 'Restore Payware Content' feature or whatever it is called.

Hi let me butt in here if your computer is a Mac S&C will not work on it as it is an exe file. If you have a windows PC then it will install as a stand alone and still you need something like TS2009 minimum to update the update. or it used to be like that, It may be worth while contacting the helpdesk and finding out if it is already updated if you still wish to purchase.

What I didn't explain in this post because I've mentioned it a few times recently is that I've just got myself a PC and will be installing TS10 or 12 asap!
Thanks though- I appreciate you mentioning it as if I'd been trying to install on mac I'd have been pretty miffed!

Yes I just noticed your other posts, I rarely look at posts or reply to many even though I have been a member since 2005 as you can see by my post count.
I didn't want you to waste money on buying something, nobody else had mentioned it and I noticed you had the Mac version. I have noticed that you have got TS12 let me tell you now don't be influenced by all the scaremongering about the updates, I am fully patched up-to date and have no problems what so-ever with it. and S&C runs a whole lot better than it did in the pre-service pack version.
