Running TrainzPLus with eGPU

Does anyone have any experience running TrainzPLus with an eGPU? I have a 2020 Mac and feel I need some more graphic power as my network grows.
I'm looking at the Blackmagic eGPU. Thanks for any input on this.

3d Benchmark 7,753 a bit on the low side, 10,000 is considered reasonable.
