Running Timetable

Hello,I have been running Trainz since about 2003 with versions UTC,TRS 2004,2006 and to a certain extent 2009.I have learnt a lot including the use of basic portals.I would like to progress to create a running timetable for some of my commuter and express trains. I have already downloaded 04Timetable but this does not appear to tell me HOW TO CREATE a timetable, just another route!!
Please can someone point me forward to a solution or is there any suitable third party software.
Many Thanks:confused:

When ever I am creating a session for timetable operations, I first create a timetable for the route in a spreadsheet program.

Then, when I am assigning driver commands, I make extensive use of the WaitUntil command. The driver commands for a specific train would be:

Nav to A
WaitUntil 8:45
Nav to B
Wait Until 8:59
Nav to C
WaitUntil 9:15
etc.
etc.

The WaitUntil Command does not stop the train if it is late - I think it is up to 4 hours.

There is also a new WaitUntilV2 update that shows the wait until time when you mouse over the command.

Good Luck.

Hi Dap Thank you for your prompt reply I will give it a go.Must now learn to set up a spreadsheet!!.

it doesn't really need to be a spread sheet. I just like to use them because they can put the lines in the chart and make it look like a real timetable. I don't do any calculations with the spreadsheet. I just use it as a formatting tool. You could just as effectively use a blank or ruled piece of paper.

Hi Dap ,I was going to use pen and paper in the first instance to experiment.
However I"ve hit a snag, where can I get the WaitUntil Rule, your method seems a lot simpler than Lancer"s.Kind regards.

I think it is on the DLS. If not, drop me an email.

If you are running trains both ways on a single track mainline, the string diagrams in Lancer's link really help visualize things. They can be drawn with just pencil and paper and a straight edge.

There is a timetable in the manual for my version of the Huron Central. Huron Central Manual

Hope you can get it all to work.

Just checked. It doesn't appear to be on the download station, unless this is a brand new update as the original version appears to date back to 2003?

I've had it for several weeks. It was my understanding that thacklane was going to upload it to the DLS. If you need it right now, drop me an email and I'll send it.
