Running out of water

I have been trying to do the Niddertalbahn route with the 3DZUG DRG Class 05 engine... and it keeps running out of water, and then I can't produce steam. What am I doing wrong? I have the water injectors off thinking that if I turn them on, I will go through water even faster.

Water level on the slider is what percentage is fed to the boiler at, need to use the injectors to keep water in the boiler at a reasonable level, the WA box, unfamiliar with that loco but initially 60% seems to work for me in most cases then just keep an eye on the value shown in the WA box, if it drops a lot increase the injectors, too much like 100 shut them off until the value goes down to a reasonable level then just use the injectors to keep it there.

OK Pause for a bit and off to have a look.

Found the loco and ran a test started initially with 60% injector rate, and a value of 75 in WA.
I'm testing with out a consist on the back however it's been trundling around my test circuit for around 20 minutes at 60MPH, water at 72 injector currently at 9% to stop it dropping the water, was at 60% for the first 5 minutes or so before I backed it off as was getting over 80 in WA, obviously with a load it will need different settings.

I guess I'm confused... so a higher injector rate will keep you from using up all your water? I was thinking just the opposite, but obviously that didn't work for me.

Hi perrybucsdad
The injector on a steam locomotive is used to add water to the boiler; so using a higher rate on this slider will add water more quickly to the boiler :)

The water level shown on the HUD is the water level in the boiler itself, the injector will take water from the tanks or tender to add the water into the boiler. You can check the level of the tanks (on a tank loco), or tender (of a tender loco) by holding the CTRL key and right click on the loco or tender, then click on 'view details'. That will then show the details for the vehicle, including commodity (ie coal and water) levels.

Thanks Zec.

So, what do I do when my Boiler Pressure drops too low? Right now I was doing a session where I am stuck.... I have plenty of WA (100), but the SC is 22, BP is only 22 and EQ is 70 (MR is 119 is that is important) and I am stuck and can't move. I have to get the BP up again, but not sure how to do that. I think I had the injectors set at 60% before as I was loading up the train.

I really wish there was a good wiki that tells how to keep everything where it should be.... maybe there is one and I just don't know about it.
