Running a computer... without memory modules!?!

Well... I have a tough question for you all.

Hello. I had a question.

You see, the memory modules I bought a while back, only recently I discovered they were defected and I was opting for an RMA. However, this would (of course) require sending the memory modules back in. That would leave this computer in the dark, which me and another person use and indeed need!

I have another computer, but unfortunately the memory is DDR, not DDR2, so I would not be able to use it (motherboard incompatibility)!

I was wondering, would there be any possible chance of Patriot sending us the memory first, then we send the defective modules? I can understand if you are wary of scamming.

If that is not possible, do you know of any suggestions that could keep the computer running even without the memory (sounds impossible)?

Cheers and happy holidays.

Well, can you run a computer without memory modules, via a workaround?

Chris.

Perhaps in the future. If Solid State Discs becomes as fast as RAM-modules - or atleast their virtual memory part.

Some years down the line...
