Run a downloaded locomotive

What is the procedure to go into Surveyor, and pick a locomotive to run in Driver Mode? I downloaded some NKP Geeps and would like to run them. I am new to this and I'm using TRS2006. I found the NKP unit in the spoked wheel thing, and I've clicked Conrol F2, but it says I have to install a train before I can drive. There are not many US Routes to chose from, and other than the Country/City and Tidewater South, what other scenarios are there?

Need more information here: what version of TRS are you using? Have you read the manual, especially the chapters on Surveyor?

To get a any train vehicle to appear you need to place your item on the track by clicking the mouse after you select it from the list that you found. This then should be saved so you can go back time and time again if you want to repeat the drive! Should be the same for all versions from 04 onwards, as far as I am aware. Sorry if this is too obvious.
