Just got TS 2010 and it really performs better on my fairly high end laptop than TRS2006 and TC did - don't know why but I'm happy. Also imported a self-made route from TC that I have a year and a half of time invested and most everything came across except the fixed track segments which I have fixed.
Observation - in TC/TRS 2006, after you first placed a train on the route, it created a session, just like TS 2010, but in TC, if you went to edit the route, the trains weren't on the route, just the session. In TS 2010, apparently you can add the trains to the route and they stay there, although you still have to edit the session to give driver commands. I'm not sure why this change was made, but I like it. I've also learned the hard way not to edit the session in surveyor, add buildings, etc and expect them to be on the route, which is another big change I need to deal with.
Question - since I only use one session/route on my routes, what is the best practice re adding additional trains - on the route or on the session? Or does it even matter since I don't use multiple sessions?
