Route Design Problems

Hi There.
Can anybody help with two small but niggling route design problems I have.

First problem.
Is there any way to change the time that it gets dark in either surveyor or a session. I have created a UK coastal route and would like nightfall to come at around 9:30 PM (as it does in the summer here in the UK). However I am finding that you can change the sky and color of the sunsets in sessions or surveyor but I cannot find a way to change the time of nightfall which is around 5-6 PM in Trainz 2010. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Second Problem.
Is there a way that a AjS invisible station can be added to just the session layer but not into the Route layer in 2010. The West country in the United Kingdom is a big tourist area and quite a number of stations in the 50s and 60s had excursion platforms that would be used for special tourist Trains during the summer season. However, these would not be used during the winter when just the regular platforms would be used. I have created several of these excursion platform in the coastal route with the AJS interactive stations built in.

The problem is, if you set the passenger numbers with them built into the Route layer the passengers are still on these platforms during the winter session as you cannot change the numbers of passengers between separate sessions. I have tried placing the AJS stations on a separate layer added to the session layer. However when creating new sessions without the AJS station layer in, it just leaves gaps in the track of the Route layer. If you add track then on the Route layer it then stops the AJS station functioning when you start the excursion session.

Hope that wasn't too complicated for everybody to follow but if anybody thinks they have any solutions to either problem then their advice will be greatly appreciated.

With thanks
Bill

In answer to your first question place a world origin marker then type in the longditude and latitude of your route (the best way is find the centre of your route then add the world origin there as if any distances are not exactly prototypical it won't be as much of a problem). This makes trainz work out the exact sunset / sunrises and sun position.

The world origin is under the main menu, edit environment, date and time tab.

Haven't used the layers yet (I'm a little scared to) so I don't know.

Hope this helps you on the first question.

Hi Andy
Thanks for that i will give it a go. (never used origin, I wondered what it was for)

Just started using layers to try to sort this problem. Begining to wish I had not started that now.

Still its all part of the fun of trainz (you know, driving you mad):D

Thanks again
Bill
