REWARDED ASSET CREATION OPPORTUNITY

Greetings fellow Trainzers,

I have been given permission from The Powers That Be to make a public notice here in the main forum, inviting any who are capable of high quality locomotive or wagon asset creation, to consider an opportunity to exercise your abilities as part of the
Content Creation Program effort that is currently underway to develop material for Trainz - A New Era. If you are interested in joining the effort, and potentially seeing some rewards for your skills, send me a private email. Other general queries I can address in this thread - I am not usually a forum lurker, but I will keep an eye on it for a week or two.

I have a rather large western European route under development which The Powers That Be at N3V regard as a potential payware release, however I am a busy guy and I do not have the time to cultivate the ability to model locomotives or rolling stock, in addition to finishing the route. This leaves open an opportunity to any who are inclined to take it. You may be able to model it from scratch, or perhaps you already have suitable payware available elsewhere and are willing to negotiate with N3V. The time frame is 9 months to a year for the route itself (there is an awful lot of catenary to erect!), personal disasters aside. But any good assets may find their own way into the online store on their own merit of course.

Now comes the part when I have to give away the location of the route by listing the assets that we desire to be modelled.

HIGH SPEED ELECTRIC TRAINSETS

Eurostar Class 373 set (standard model)
Eurostar Class 374 set ( e320 model currently in development based on Siemens Velaro D high speed set)
Alstom AGV set (perhaps in Veolia colours)

ELECTRIC FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVES

Class 92 (preferably in DB Schenker colours)
Siemens Vectron
Alstom Prima II

MODERN CONTAINER WAGONS

SuperLow 45
Sffggmrrss Megafret
FIA Multifret

Is that enough clues as to the nature and whereabouts of the route? For the benefit of any who have read this far down this thread, and who know what it is, I am told that there is a full TVM430 high speed line signalling system in the asset pipeline, including the proper in-cab displays. I am unsure of the exact details of this system, but I know it exists and is near completion, so I will leave such further technical discussions for you to have with The Powers That Be, if you decide to become involved.

Thanks for your time

Isn't this kinda putting the "cart before the horse", in terms of TANE content creation? Last I heard (about a week ago), N3V still have no idea about the 3D Modeling Software that will, or will not, be supported with exporters, and have yet to "Formally" announce a set of "asset standards" (pertaining to mesh format, and advanced texturing properties, in addition to "features" and/or addition animation functionality) OTHER_THAN that "anything that works in TS12 should work in TANE".

Yes, all true, we all face such conversion issues though, whether we are making a route or traincar assets. I don't know much about the technical side of modelling traincars, but becoming an official content creator appears to me to offer greater access to The Powers That Be in terms of direct assistance. I usually get an answer to technical questions or queries on the same day or the next day if they know the answer. They are certainly better placed than I for advice on such matters.

Based on what you quoted in your reply, I would assume that developing a traincar asset according to standards for Trainz2012 would be adaptable to Trainz A New Era at a future point. The forthcoming advanced in-cab signalling system would need to be incorporated into locos too, from what I am told, so there will be extra work either way on the asset.

Something isn't adding up here.....low number of posts, referencing N3V as "The Powers That Be", and this "news" being given out by a non-N3V member? Not to mention the many started threads all saying the same thing? This is all saying SCAM to me.

No cause for suspicion, StarFox, it's a genuine post. I am one of those great many who read the forums quite regularly, to get some laughs and stay fairly up to date, but don't actually post very often. My communications with N3V are usually by direct email as well. I refer to The Powers That Be in order to avoid naming particular individuals at N3V - they have quite enough to do at the moment. I would not have issued the original post (which by necessity had to reveal details of potential future DLC content) without specific permission from them.

Hmm...didn't realize that he was a route builder. Even still, this all seems a little suspicious to me.

He already said it in the second paragraph

From posts I've read, related to a Payware rolling stock Provider (as well as everyone else) not knowing what the "new" standards for Modeling will be at this point, or even what 3D Modeling software will be supported, I'd have to disagree with your comments. N3V do not seem to have the answers yet themselves, and as such, can not provide them to us.

There is no use in making "TANE Specific" content, at this point, if the "new" standards and features can not be incorparated.

Rubbish

NV3 have stated that content that works in TS12 will work in T2, so existing 3D modeling programs will work, there maybe some tweaks that maybe added to some new exporters but its not going to mean major changes to meshes, considering the time it takes to make the items mention above this is a non issue.

Cheers

I'll see your Rubbish, and raise you a Garbage!

It has nothing to do with the "meshes" themselves, but the texturing and lighting effects.

I myself have quoted N3V's claim that TS12 content will work in TANE...but what is the point. If you want the same'ole same'ole, there is no need for TANE and it's advanced graphics engine (T2)...

...that was the whole point of TANE, to bring about T2 and the enhanced GRAPHICS, ie TEXTURES....which have no way of being implemented without: A> an exporter that can translate them, and B> knowing what "they" are, and at what values "they" will be implementable (due to T2 and exporter ability/limitation).

I tested successfully with the TVM-430 signaling. Now we need to refine the algorithm.
