Replacing track on a route?

What is the best way to replace the track in a route?

In surveyor in track mode, use the get track tool to see what the track is. Under the menu in the top left, use "Replace Assets..." When the asset replacement box pops up, drag the name of the track from the list of tracks (not from the text box above the list) to the left hand side. Now pick the track you want to use, drag it from the list to the right hand side (replace with), and click the button at the bottom of the box to replace it.

The replace assets function.

1. Menu-Replace assets.

2. Find the asset you want to replace. Put it in the bigger box.

3. Get the asset you want to replace it with, put it in the smaller box.

4. Click replace. Volla!

So: Out of another thread, I did exactly as indicated and it works very well. But in one instance, a section of track was converted to a track I did not select! by a beach I got a snow track! and when I tried to delete.. it would not delete! because I had this problem years ago, I did what everybody has indicated in the forums: Delete as object, delete as spline, deletes as a track, delete from the main map. Nothing works! so I had to delete the track in CMP, and then it is not there anymore (of course!). This is a bug not new to us. Very troublesome..

Note that a bridge spline with attached track can not be replaced by using 'replace assets'.

At least mine can't!
