Renaming Route And Backing Up Route

Hi there,

I have a couple questions and they are as follows:

1.) If I want to rename the route. Do I just use "Save As" instead of "Save"?

2.) How can I back up a route and make the route into a .cdp file?

No. To change the name of a route, use Content Manager, find the route, right click it and select Edit - Edit in Explorer to put it into the edit folder. Find then double click the config.txt file to open it in Notepad. Find the line that has the tag username. Change the name that's between the parentheses, close, save and commit. The kuid should now show in Content Manager with the new name.

2.) How can I back up a route and make the route into a .cdp file?

Again, use Content Manager, find the route, right click and select Save to CDP. Pick a folder to save it to. It will have the same name but with the .cdp extension.

Sure, that will work. You can them go into content manager and delete the older version.
An easier way is when in surveyor use the File menu and select Edit Route...you can then change the name if you wish. No need to open the route for edit in Content Manager, edit and recommit, although that works too.
