Removing For Reinstall

I want to remove 2006 and 2009 and do a clean install. Both do not show up on my add/remove programs menu, but are still on my second hard drive.
If I delete the folders containing these files will it delete suffinciently for a new install or will fragments remain that may hinder the reinstall?

Deleting the install folder is the worst thing you can do. All sorts of registry entries point to those folders. In the install folder for both those games is a file called "unins000.exe". This is the uninstall program. Double-click the file and it will uninstall Trainz for you.

Did that for 2009. Folder still there and 2009 still opens from there. Unistall icon gone.
No uninstall icon for 2006.
This is why I am confused.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I might suggest reinstalling the sims (only to add the necessary information to the uninstaller script provided by the sims), then use Revo Uninstaller freeware to remove parasitic registry entries and remove folders the program was known to use that are not in use anymore - great and very useful program at the outstanding price of.....free. Did I mention that it was free?
