Remembering the Swampscott Wreck of 1956

Trainzing since 12-2003
On February 28, 1956 a Budd RDC rear ended a heavyweight passenger train stopped at Swampscott, MA station, killing passengers and crew during a snowstorm. My neighbor was a conductor on the RDC out of Danvers and survived with a leg injury. He was one of the lucky ones. Looking at the date, I realize that next year is the 70th anniversary of this horrible crash.
